STEP THREE: Muslim Personalities
For every four humans in the world, one of them is Muslim. The Muslim population is up to nearly 1.4 billion. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world today. In the United States every year there are about 25 thousand new Muslims. Your team will choose one of the following options to complete this step.

*Choice 1:  Video

1. List five people from the video who became Muslims.
2. What are their reasons for conversion?
3. How does Malcolm X describe his experience in Makkah?
4. Based upon these examples, why are many people throughout the United States and the world drawn to Islam?

* Choice 2:  Research

Each group member will choose a Muslim personality from a different region (Asia, Africa, Europe, the United States, or South America)
and provide the following information:
A. Name
B. Nationality
C. A brief description of their main occupation and reason for notoriety.
D. How long has he/she been a Muslim?
E. The reason(s) behind their conversion.

* Choice 3:  Interview

Each team member will conduct a personal interview with a Muslim and provide the following information:

1. Name
2. Occupation
3. Age and number of years as a Muslim
4. Reason(s) for conversion or belief
5. Opinion on the effects of current events and their faith
6. Any other interesting statements or opinions
