Scope of Effort
The purpose of the Sanchez Elementarry Technology Plan is to provide a coherent long-range plan as it envisions how technology can enhance the teaching and learning process. Thus, Sanchez Elementary is now embarking on an aggressive plan to address the challenging and diverse needs of students in the twenty-first century. The effective use of technology is an integral component of this plan, and requires careful preparation.
The effective use of technology in education requires careful planning. The expansion of technology must be coordinated and cannot be a series of random responses to unanticipated needs. It is not intended that the technology be allowed to determine educational goals, but rather, that it serve as a tool that supports quality instruction and improved student achievement.
Technology-based
instruction along with information and communication systems are essential
for serving the students, supporting the teachers, and carrying out administrative
tasks.
This technology plan is a result of an extensive online collaborative work by the elementary school team for the course EDC385: Instructional Technology Planning & Management, under the supervision of Dr. Paul Resta,
